In Celebration of

Maurice A. Shuck

September 4, 1931 -  December 12, 2021

Three months after his 90th birthday and three years since losing the love of his life, my Dad is once again reunited with my Mom. It is this thought that keeps my tears from overflowing.

Maurice A. Shuck passed away December 12th after taking a fall at home a day earlier. Cherished husband of the late Helena Sapyla, he leaves to mourn him his beloved only child Frances Ann “Lalla”, his son-in-law Paul Huberdeau and their poodle, otherwise known as Daddy Maurice’s Chelsea. Also survived by nephew Robert Garby and a niece and her family in the U.S.

Maurice was the last and youngest sibling of a family of six, born to the late Anna and Wasyl Shuck. He was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and spoke fondly of his early years in Point St. Charles, which is also where he began his long and illustrious career with (Union Carbide), Praxair.

My parents, walking hand in hand is how I will always remember them. With my Mom’s passing we saw how sorely he missed that other hand. Twenty-eight years retired, twenty-five of which he enjoyed with her by his side; years of travelling and cruising and loving all that life has to offer. Now back together again, forever.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mount Royal Commemorative Services. Visitation from 10:00 to noon, Thursday December 23, at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex. Mass in the chapel, with burial following.
