In Celebration of

Mary Eleanor Forsyth Buckberrough

January 29, 1934 -  September 18, 2022

Our mother Mary chose a sunny Sunday afternoon to leave us with family by her side.

She devoted her 88 years beginning with her family growing up in Montreal, her great life-long friends, and the family she created with Bill. With mom at the top of our family tree she leaves Richard (Lina), Lori (Lawrence) and Linda (Ray). Her seven grandchildren were the loves of her life. Rachel, Melanie, Gabriel, Jayme, Michele, Melissa & Kyle. Her two great-grandchildren Alexanne and Juliette did not have the opportunity to experience the love of their great-grandmother. Her many nieces and nephews will always remember her caring ways as well.

She was predeceased by her loving brother and sister-in-law Jim and Bev Forsyth whom mom shared a special bond.

Mary was a hard working, proud lady. She committed an unprecedented 39 years at
The Study School in Westmount doing what she did best. She took pride in creating and provided warms meals and treats to students & teachers for so many years. She reluctantly retired as her vision declined. Just one more obstacle in life that she refused to define her.

She carried on her passion for cooking becoming Lori’s weekend sous chef, chopping the vegetables and rolling the cookie dough albeit blind.

Always the fighter, she endured Covid not once but twice completely asymptomatic.
Although her final years proved extra challenging, she was an unintentional inspiration to move forward regardless.

We would like to express a special thanks to Dick and the late Connie Blair for their kindness for 60 plus years. They encouraged, supported, and helped mom navigate daily life. True friends.

Bob and Betty Trotter have been lifelong friends for an amazing 75 years going over and above whenever mom needed anything, especially has her health declined. They hold a special place in our hearts, and we are so grateful they reached out to share lovely memories and photos during the earlier happy and fun-loving years. Thank you both.

She would want everyone to know her work here was complete.

Her final sign-off in every card she wrote us. “Loads of Love, Mom”

We will commemorate Mary on November 12, 2022, at Mount Royal Cemetery with visitation between 9:00 am and 11:00 am followed by a chapel service and reception thereafter.

To those wishing to donate in mom’s memory, we know she would be pleased with support directed to The Alzheimer Society of Montreal.
