It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing away of Marguerite Helene Elise Barbir, devoted wife of Mohamed Nader El Barbir; loving mother of Caroline, Karim and Tarek; proud grandmother of Alexandra and Philip Kallos, Taimour, Tamer, Adrian and Marc; great-grandmother of Erik Leetmaa; dear sister of Philippe Coupey of Toronto (deceased) and Pierre Coupey of Vancouver.
Born in Montreal, she lived in Canada and Lebanon and will be remembered for her positive spirit and optimism. She was happiest in the company of her family. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all those whose lives she touched.
A service for the immediate family was held at the Mount Royal cemetery on Thursday, December 5, 2019. The family would like to thank the staff at the Mount Sinai Hospital for the wonderful care provided over the past two months. We express gratitude for any donations made in her memory to the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation.
