Madeleine Lutfy (nee Barakett)

January 1, 1925 -  March 25, 2018

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Madeleine Lutfy (neé Barakett) on Sunday March 25th, 2018 in Montreal. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Madeleine was predeceased by her husband Lutfallah (Sam) Lutfy. She leaves behind her sister Hortense Chamandy (late Joe Chamandy) and her children Richard , Bruce (Geraldine Mereb), Louise, Grace, Elizabeth (James Wanless), Mark (Elizabeth Chunga), her loving grandchildren Sam, Brianna, Andréa, Laura, Emily, Jasmine, Samantha and Alexandro and her nephew André who admired her as his mentor. She was predeceased by her brothers Edmond, Albert, Léon (survived by Sylvia Barakett neé Courey).

As an entrepreneurial and innovative woman she rose to the challenge of leading the family business, White Cross Uniforms, to success.

“Our beacon of light has passed on to the arms of God. She has earned her sacred place in heaven. Her love lives on in our hearts forever.”

A special thank-you to her dedicated caregivers Marthe and Carmen.

Visitation will be held at Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC H2V 2P9, on Sunday, April 1st, 2018 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. On Monday, April 2nd, 2018 visitation will be from 9 to 10 am followed by a service, also in chapel of the complex.
