Karl Hoenig

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karl Hoenig. He leaves to mourn his wife of 70 years Katharina, his son Karl (Angie), his daughter Rosalind (Ewald), grandchildren Michael (Leanne), Stephen (Sherman), Edward (Elizabeth), Stephanie and great-grand daughter Sophia. The oldest of 10 children he also leaves behind his remaining siblings, sisters Erna (Lothar), Traudel (Georg) and Lilli as well as sisters in law Anna and Rosemarie (Karl) and their children.

Karl was born in Jacobeni, Romania and was displaced to Austria in 1939 at the onset of WWII, where he met his future wife in 1949. After Katharina and her family immigrated to Montreal in 1951, Karl followed the love of his life in 1952 and were they married and lived a life full of love and happiness surrounded by their children and Katharina’s family

We wish to thank the staff of CHSLD Ste. Dorothee and Dr. Bernier for their loving care in the last months of his life.

Funeral Services will be held at Mount Royal Funeral Complex on Friday September 9, at 10:00, followed by a service at 11:00

In lieu of flowers donations to St. John’s Lutheran Memorial Fund are appreciated.
