In Celebration of

Kalliopi Daskalakis (née Stathopoulos)

March 9, 1935 -  August 31, 2021

It is with very heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Kalliopi “Popi” Daskalakis (nee Stathopoulos) at the age of 86 years on Tuesday August 31, 2021.

Completely devoted to her family, she was a loving mother to her sons, Elias (Jo-Ann) and Dimitrios (Elizabeth)
She was an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren George, Peter and Katerina-Kalliopi.
Survived by her brother Nasos (Athina) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George Daskalakis and her sister Magda.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and the family extends their gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses who cared for Popi.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Résidence Les Floralies Lachine for their devotion and the excellent care they provided to Popi.

A private service will be held by the family.

Dearest Thia Popi (Aunt Popi)
You were the most loving, appreciative, sweet person I have ever known! Your immense patience in front of every life’s challenge is exemplary and I only hope I can be like you.
I will always remember the good times we had together.
You will continue living in my heart.
May you rest in peace

Thia Popi was and will always be a beautiful person. Her kindness, strength and deep devotion to her family and friends are just a few of the things we can learn and hope to emulate.
Thia Popi will be remembered for all the right reasons. My deepest condolences and sympathy.

Dear Elias, our deepest sympathies go out to you and your family at the loss of your Mother.
As children, it often falls to us to take care of our ageing parents and you can take pride and solace in the way you performed that task.
As sons, we look to our parents for guidance; to our fathers for examples of manhood and strength and from our mother’s kindness and temperance.
The father is the heart of a family but the mother is the soul. She is the one you go to when you need a bandage on your knee or a shoulder to cry on.
Find guidance and wisdom in the memories of your mother and be sure to share them with your children.
"I remember when my mother told me....".

The pain you feel in the loss of Popi is real but take solace in knowing her suffering has ended. And, as long as you hold the memory of her in your heart, Popi will be with you forever. Our deepest sympathies. Love Pen & Steph
