In Celebration of

Joseph Raie

March 6, 1942 -  March 28, 2017

In his 75th year, after a very long yet stoic battle, Joe passed away on March 28th, with his cherished family at his side.

He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Rona Kalnitsky. Treasured father and father-in-law of Elie, Danny (Georgia Kollias) and Deena (Charlie Bensimon). Adoring grandfather to Joshua and Dylan. Also mourned by his family and extended family in Israel.

At home and abroad, Joe's giving nature touched the lives of so many who knew him. A friend to all, his exuberance and outgoing personality served him well during both his business career, and as a lifetime volunteer with the Cote-St-Luc sports community. The family would like to thank Drs. Mark Rabinovitch and David Eidelman for many years of devoted care.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 3rd 2017 at 11:00am, at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont, QC H2V 2P9 (514)279-6540 www.mountroyalcem.com

Thanks Joe, for the more than 35 years of friendship and for the example you set by being there for anyone who needed you. Your off the wall sense of humour is something I will be able to remember forever. Who else could sing a duet of O Canada with a schnauzer? You enriched my life and the lives of many others. You have gone but that enrichment will continue.
And now, a bit of Johnny while I relive some good times.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Joe was a pillar of the community and a staple at the rink every Saturday. He was a great story teller who will be remembered fondly by anybody that has played hockey in CSL over the last twenty plus years. He will be missed.
