In Celebration of

Janina (Janka) KEDZIERSKA NEE TALASKA

January 31, 1921 -  October 17, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce that Janka passed away peacefully in Montreal on October 17, 2016. Loving wife of the late Wieslaw Kedzierski and devoted sister to the late Eugenia Toczek. She will be deeply missed by her niece Izabella Toczek, grandniece Nikka, many cousins in Poland, her "adopted family": goddaughter Alexandra, Victor (Lara, Gabrielle & Alyssa) and Anna Fangor, and by her good friend Andrzej Czerwinski. A lifetime of joyous memories will be cherished by her many friends in Canada and Poland. She will be remembered as a loyal friend and a generous hostess. Born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, Janka came to Montreal after the war and spent her career in research for Dominion Textile. An ardent reader and music lover, she was an active member and supporter of the Polish Library. Special thanks to her loyal and devoted caregivers, companions and friends: Grazyna (Grace) Lukasiewicz and Weronicka Schab, and all those at The Vista Residence. Services will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 11 am in the Mount Royal chapel of the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, Québec (www.mountroyalcem.com). A reception and visitation will follow the service until 2 pm, after-which internment will take place in the “Polish Quarter of Honor” of the Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Polish Library 4220 rue Drolet, Montréal, QC H2W 2L6 would be appreciated.
