Dr. James Lawrence (Lauri) Hutchison passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9th, 2020 at the age of 92.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Lois Marion (n. Cockfield) and his brother Alan, predeceased by his brother Richard. Survived also by his three children, Jane, Stuart (Cindy Hutchison) and Nancy (Marc Béïque) and his five grandchildren, Chloe, Noel, Melanie, Liam and Katie.

Lauri lived a full life, beloved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As the Head of the Division of Hematology at the Montreal General Hospital for many years, he was committed to his patients and advancing his field. Lauri was an active member, elder and Clerk of Session at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul and throughout his life he was a supportive member of many Montreal-based organizations, boards and committees. He was also a great supporter of McGill University and a graduate of the Class of Medicine 1953. He will be fondly remembered and keenly missed by family, friends and all those he touched through his work, volunteer endeavours, many social activities and endless kindness.

Due to the situation, a service at Church of St Andrew & St Paul, Montreal, QC, is postponed at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favourite charity would be a wonderful way to remember Lauri and in keeping with his tradition of giving back to others.
