In Celebration of

Ivi Angelopoulos (Paraskevi Deliyiannidou)

September 28, 1932 -  March 23, 2020

After a lengthy battle with dementia, Ivi peacefully passed away on Monday, March 23rd, 2020. She will deeply be missed by her children James (Barbara), George (Sandrine) and Heleni-Maria (Lise-Ann), her grandchildren, Michael, Ellexa, Natalie, Zoe and Adrian. Ivi was a strong and determined woman who would not give up in what she truly believed in. At a young age, she came to Canada alone to build a better life. She was hard-working and very resilient. For over twenty-five years, she worked at the Jewish General Hospital where many, from security agents to doctors, referred to her as Mom. She has left a beautiful legacy in her children and grandchildren which will forever live in their hearts. A private service will take place at the Mount Royal Cemetery. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the administration, doctors, nurses, and caregivers for taking such good care of our Mother the past three-and-a-half years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (IUGM) c/o RC ouest.

My Dear Auntie Ivi, (Thea), thank you for being there for me many times in my growing up years. I loved going to your house where you always made me feel so at home. You were pretty much my second Mom. I will always remember your bright smile, your singing, and the little Greek dance you would do, I always admired your many abilities and how productive you were, no matter what was going on in your life. I appreciate all the things I learned from you as I was growing up.Thank you for helping me get my very first car, when I finally got a driver's license in BC. Even though you were far away, you helped make this happen when you heard I could drive. I remember as a kid, I loved riding in your car with you and I was always impressed that you could drive. So I know that you appreciated when I learned how to. Thank you for all your yummy cooking and for having glazed donuts and milk available for all the kids, when I came over after school. That was always something to look forward to. Also thank you for coming out to BC when I got married and for being my Maid of Honor. You really went out of your way to do this for me. I know we have a special bond and you will be in my heart forever. I love you Thea. Bless you and do well in your next adventure. Love, Effie (Your Effoula).

To my cousins, Jimmy, George and Mary Ellen. condolences for the loss of your Mom.
I know that her last few years were very tough and I can imagine how tough it was for you to watch her go through it all. But you were there for her, right till the end and I am sure she was very grateful for that, and she could leave peacefully.
Love to the three of you.
Your cousin, Effie
