Ingrid Berzins, loving wife of Vincent Leuzy for 35years, proud mother of Corinna Groenendaal (Robin Heijl) and Antoine Leuzy (Kerstin Heurling) passed away peacefully, on December 23, 2019.

Her biggest source of pride were her children and their partners with whom she shared a lifetime of joys.

She was madly in love with her grandsons, LEO ALEXANDER and OLIVER JAMES. Ingrid was passionate about nature, architecture, film, photography, art, and her volunteer work at both Women Aware and the Montreal Council of Women where she dedicated her energy towards lowering the statistics on domestic violence through education and awareness.

Her documentary film work, as well as her book on the subject, is her lasting legacy. She leaves to mourn her sister, Andrea Thibault (Lawrence Creighan) her step-son, Alain Groenendaal (Elizete Peres Groenendaal) as well as many relatives in the United States, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, France, and Holland.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to the many friends here at home who helped make the transition at the time of her diagnosis a little easier. A private cremation has already taken place.


A memorial service at The Mount Royal Funeral complex will be held a later date, to be announced.

Ingrid lived by the motto: ''Every day is a gift.'' It was in that spirit that she managed to make the most of what she considered to be her extraordinary life.
