GARNER, Graham David

Peacefully at home on March 8, 2017. Loving husband of Stephanie, father of Graham (Karen) and Andrew (Lee), brother of Katherine Logan (John), and brother-in-law of Sandra Lemon (Morley). David was greatly loved by his grandchildren Beatrice, Jack, Lucy and Kennedy; his nieces and nephews Rindy (Tim), Stephanie (Dan), Kathy (Mark), and Peter (Alexandra); as well as great-nieces and nephews Robertson, Tessa, Max, Jake, Stephanie, Tommy, Samantha, Lindsay, Curtis, Angela, and Julia. Predeceased by his wife Stephanie, his sister Katherine, his brother-in-laws Duncan and John, nephew David (Carol), and parents Graham and Lucille.

David joined the investment firm of Hodgson Roberton Laing and company in 1971 and was a partner at what is now Dorchester Wealth Management for over thirty years. He took great pride in being a trusted advisor to his clients, who so often became lifelong friends.

His family adored him for his unique sense of humor, his honesty, and his incredible generosity. He brought high standards, strong opinions, a love of public speaking, and an iconic laugh to the communities he served. Club Captain at The Royal Montreal Golf Club, Board of Governors at Lower Canada College, and founding member of the Jupiter Hurling and Canoe Club.

A memorial service for David will take place at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, 3415 Redpath Street in Montreal on Tuesday, March 21st at 11am, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to NOVA Montreal would be appreciated. David and his family were incredibly grateful for the care and support that they received from the wonderful NOVA team members, each of whom enjoyed telling David how charming and handsome he was.

So sorry to hear that David passed away. Always enjoyed his humour at work as I always had the pleasure to talk to him at reception area when he came in for the day.
