In Celebration of

Gerrard Alexander L'Orange

November 3, 1947 -  August 15, 2018

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry L’Orange, beloved husband of Caroline Jarvis.

Gerry passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital, after a very brave seven-year battle with prostate cancer. Gerry lived a rich and interesting life, having lived in countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba and Belgium in his youth. He was an exceptional human being, sincere and passionate, with a sharp wit and an amazing eye for design. He was a devoted husband of 33 years, a steadfast, true blue friend to many and a gifted graphic designer and communicator. A book Gerry designed for The Trans Canada Trail was deemed 'a work of art' by the Globe and Mail.

Aside from his devoted wife Caroline, Gerry leaves to mourn his mother Patricia, his siblings Kirk and Patti, their partners Clancy and Donny, his nieces and nephews, as well as many, many loving friends.
His beloved father Alex predeceased him, and we know Gerry hoped to see him again.

Our dear Gerry will be terribly missed by all. He is gone far too soon, and we are all the poorer for it.

Many thanks to the caring staff and volunteers of the Royal Victoria Hospital and also the Montreal General Hospital for many years of excellent care.

A special celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11 a.m., to be followed by a reception at noon.

In lieu of flowers and with the memory of Gerry in mind, please make a donation to the fight against prostate cancer at: www.procure.ca

Dear Caroline.
What a sensitive and accurate description of Gerry - impeccable design taste, quick wit and a heart of gold. We are thinking of you and your family (from overseas unfortunately) so we will visit in the near future when you are up for it.

Big hugs,

Danny and Suzanne.
