It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Eric Ronald Vrancken on October 28th, 2016, at the age of eighty-three, surrounded by his family. Loving husband for 56 years to Francine (nee Payette). Cherished father to Danika, Eric (Jane Ross), Anik (Philip Gregory) and Karine (Bill Makinson). Extremely proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren: Kayla, Eric, and Zacary Vrancken Lussier, Caelen, Ethan, Rowan and CoraJane Vrancken, Camden, Lily and Tess Gregory, Olivia, Grace, Sam and Ella Makinson. He leaves behind his sister, Huguette Vrancken, along with many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his sisters, Yvonne and Anny, and his brother Raph. Ronald emigrated from Tongres, Belgium to Quebec in 1950. Practicing in Quebec and New Brunswick upon graduation from the Université de Montréal in Veterinary Medicine, he later transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry, establishing a successful specialty pharmaceutical company, Omega Laboratories. His hobbies included sailing, golf, tennis, and skiing, where many friendships were made. Per his wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu, to honour Ronald’s life and memory, the family will be receiving condolences on Saturday, November 12th, 2016, from 10:00am-12:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00pm-3:00pm, held at the Belvedere Cemetery and Funeral Complex, 22025 Transcanada Highway, Senneville, Quebec, H9X 3L7.
