Most of us knew Dad, Ennio, Mr. C., Nonno personally and some knew of him only through his wife, children, grandchildren and or a friend. We all mourned as we learned about this outstanding man’s passing. The outpouring of heartfelt condolences and sorrowful comments bears witness to a life well-lived and well-shared. Dad was a bon vivant. He loved his family, friends and his life. We all mourned because we knew the world was greatly diminished with Dad’s passing.
We all understand that the hole in the hearts of Dad’s family will never be filled. No day will pass without the interruption of a sweet memory of a young man, husband, father, uncle and friend - the smell of his cologne, the feel of his hand, the looks that only a family member can instantly interpret, feel, and appreciate as well as the pride he had for his family. We can only hope and pray that with the passage of time, the emptiness and pain that we now feel will slowly be separated by longer respites provided by the duties of our everyday lives. This being written; however, we never forget and always remember you Dad, today and forever. You will live on in all our hearts, souls and lives, a part of the tapestry you created, each thread woven in all the right places. Your grandchildren and great grandchild and more to come, will carry-on your legacy.
For everyone else, history teaches that the pain will fade quicker. Your own lives and your own families and the duties of each day will ensure that you do not dwell too long in the family’s current shared sadness. This is understandable. I do, however, have a unique opportunity for you, as a tribute to Dad, that you can make a permanent part of your lives, should you so wish.
Each year after April 14th, 2019, would you think of and pray for Dad and his family. Not in a quick whisper before a meal but in with purposeful, thoughtful remembrance.
Please join us, his Family, on May 4th, 2019 to remember Ennio Casazza in a true Tribute and Celebration of his life.
We live on through you Dad, and you will always be living through us, your family.
Until we meet you again Daddy, in the presence of God, it is the only tribute I can offer.
Your Pat xxoo
