In Celebration of

Else Scheel (née Reinhold Jenk)

August 16, 1919 -  April 17, 2017

Else passed away in her ninety-eight year on April 17, 2017. Devoted wife of the late
Ambassador J.D. Scheel, she leaves to mourn her children Ulrich (Monica) and Birgitte (Paul Keefe),
her grandsons Erik ( Leslie), Christian (Karyn) and Brendan and her great grand-daughter Ella.

Else was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. After completing her studies in translation, she joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark where she met the love of her life. Their diplomatic life led them to Switzerland, Great Britain, Canada, North Africa, Central and South America and ultimately the United Nations. Upon retirement, they moved to Canada.

Else was a gracious lady who always had an interesting story to tell from her many adventures around the world. She was generous and helpful to all.

The family would like to thank the staff of Place Kensington for their care and compassion; Dr. Alan J. Maclean and Dr. Paul Lysy for their excellent care; her much loved and loyal assistant for the past twenty five years, Carol Lacrette, and her devoted caregivers, Eliene and Maureen.

Cremation has taken place in private. Donations in memory of Else Scheel may be made to the MUHC Foundation.
