In Celebration of

Eileen Wintz

November 21, 1935 -  August 7, 2020

Ms. Eileen Yvonne Thompson Wintz, daughter of the late Charles and Classinda Thompson was born on the 21st of November 1935 in the town of New Amsterdam in the country of Berbice in British Guiana now known as the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. She was a dedicated member of the All Saints Anglican Church in New Amsterdam where she devoted many Saturday afternoons in preparing the sanctuary for Sunday worship. Cleaning the brass and communion vessels and decorating the altar with flowers. She attended the Sunday school and was conformed and made a member of the church in the footsteps of her mother Classinda at an early age. She remained a devoted member of the church until she left Guyana for the United Kingdom in 1962.

Eileen departed this life peacefully on Friday August 7th, 2020 at the Résidence Les Gardins Gordon 1050 Rue Gordon, Verdun Quebec H4G2S2 where she had lived for the past six years.

She was the youngest of three siblings who were Lucille Johnson and Harry Thompson. They both proceeded her in death. Her caring, loving, lively and beautiful life will always be remembered by her nephews and nieces; Lawrence Thompson, Ian Thompson, Barbara and Vester Thompson, Clifford and Victor Johnson, Victorine Johnson and Carmen Joseph and many great nieces and nephews especially Sean Joseph, Dwayne Watson, Vivian Jeffers, Kilolo McKenzie and Nephews-in-law Maurice Joseph and Oswald Jeffers.

Visitation will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont, QC, H2V 2P9, on Thursday August 20th, 2020 from 11am to 1pm followed by the funeral service at 1pm.
