At the age of 79, an accomplished pediatric urologist and an exceptional and caring father has left us. Following a long battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 11th, 2023, in Tampa, FL. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Magda and his brother Chris. Dr. Homsy leaves behind his cherished daughters Christine Homsy (Carlos Lacouture), Marianne Homsy (Joseph Guggino), and his adoring grandchildren Yasmine, Juliette, Nicolas and Sebastien.

Dr. Homsy and his wife (Dr. Magda Barsoum Homsy) immigrated to Canada in 1968 and made Montreal their home. Dr. Homsy devoted his professional life as a pediatric surgeon serving both as Chief of Urology at Ste-Justine Hospital and the Montreal Children’s Hospital for many years.

A mass to celebrate his life will be held at Mount Royal Funeral Complex (1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC) on Friday, July 14th 2023 at 2 p.m. Condolences will precede the service beginning at 1pm onwards. The burial will take place at 3pm followed by a reception from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
