In Celebration of

Dr. Julian F. Giacomelli

December 7, 1940 -  January 22, 2020

Dr. Julian Frank Giacomelli
Julian (Jack) Giacomelli passed away peacefully at home in Montreal on January 22, at the age of 79. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia in December 1940 to Julian and Clara Giacomelli and grew up in Bermuda. He was married to his loving wife, Patricia Joan Giacomelli (nee Bailey) for 49 years until her death in 2009.
Jack studied dentistry at McGill University and practiced for many years in Westmount. He touched the lives of many through his exemplary work as a dentist and teacher, his engagement in all the communities in which he lived, and through his extended family connections. His kindness, warmth and smile will live on in the memories of all he met. He will be remembered for his creativity, love of wood working, and passion for spending time on the water.
Jack was very proud of his blended family that he shared with Julie Bourne. He is survived by his three sons, Christopher (Alison Gray), Julian and Jonathan (Robin Mathes), his step children Samantha Hull (Manuel Ferrarini) and Richard Hull (Kally Hudson), as well as his eight grandchildren: Ella, Madeline, Jacob and Casey Giacomelli, Stelio and Inès Ferrarini, and Joseph and Christopher Hudson-Hull. My heart goes out to Jack’s family. As a former Montrealer, I met Jack and Pat in the early 1960s through mutual friends and have fond memories of happy times shared as well as the benefit of having the best and most handsome dentist ever.
Sincere condolences,
Carol Shipton

I am so sorry Julian, Chris, BJ, and Julie. Dr. Giacomelli was a great part of growing up, whether as his patient, or Julian’s friend, kicking around the basement of the Giacomelli home. I am sending big, big hugs to all of you. God bless you, and him. Fondly, Garvin

Please accept my deepest sympathy Julie and family. Jack was a wonderfully warm, funny, generous man. I admired his love of life, his curiosity about the world and his ambitions to continue to explore. Wish I had known him longer.
