In Celebration of

Danny De La Fosse

April 9, 1959 -  August 5, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family announces the tragic passing of Dan on August 5, 2021.
Dan will be will be lovingly remembered by wife Pamela of 23 years, his children Justin and Lauren, sisters Susan (Guy, Julie-Anne, Carolyn, Sebastian), Lorraine (Eric, Kourtney, Benjamin), Patricia, Joanne (Joseph, Anthony), Renée (Tony), Jeanne, as well as, numerous cousins and many lifelong friends.
Bachelor of Business Administration from Concordia and then a Graduate Diploma Management from McGill University. He worked his way up to senior management. He would change companies several times including Pratt and Whitney, Oerlikon and then Canadian Marconi Company. He gained experience with negotiating all over the world. He would always take a day before or after his trips to explore the foreign countries he was in.

He loved excelling at sports: Soccer was his first passion. He loved golf and won tournaments, his shots off the tee a true thing of beauty. A late starter at downhill skiing, he quickly analyzed the techniques and became a certified instructor with his amazing friends. He was also a great skater and hockey player, able to guess your defensive move before you planned it. This ended up being his downfall as a frustrated player boarded him during a no-contact game and reinjured his neck.

The injury was too risky for surgery so he tried to learn to cope with his limitations. What he didn’t know was that not only did he lose his favorite sports but work at a computer would now become impossible thereby derailing a challenging and rewarding career.

He absolutely adored his family, enjoying quality time with them for the last 20 years. He loved to travel and share music with his wife Pamela, learning about world politics and philosophy with Justin and protecting and caring for Lauren as she grew up. He loved spending time with his sisters. His close friends helped to deal with the stresses.
Tragically his condition worsened and his life was cut short.

The funeral will be held on Saturday August 14th at 3 p.m. by invitation (restricted by Covid), but you can come for the visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. the same day at the Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 Trans-Canada, Senneville, Qc, H9X 0B2, 514 457-4440.

I am truly shocked and very sorry for the loss of Dan. Dan had the "gift of gab" some might know the expression he could sell ice to an Eskimo, and Dan could. As mentioned Dan could converse on so many topics, and you always left the conversation either learning something new or getting a different perspective on things.
He will be missed.

Danny and I were close friends for many years. Our battles on my ping-pong table in my parents basement are legendary. Life takes us in different directions and I was so happy to have had the chance to catch up with Danny over a few beers in my backyard last Summer. Condolences to his family.

Henry Ko (friend from hockey)

I knew Dan through Rob and we played many hockey seasons together. Dan was as much fun to be with on the ice as off. After the games, he would tell stories of his business travels or past tae kwon do competitions or recent family adventures.
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. He was gone much too soon.
