Emile John Courey

December 25, 1926 - February 8, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Emile John Courey on February 8, 2019, beloved husband of Adele. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. More than anything, Emile’s true joy was his family. Loving father of Stephen (Marie), Louise (André), Andrea, Alan (Trudy); cherished grandfather of Caroline (James), Natalie, Claudine (Anthony), Matthew, Philippe, Chloe, Daniel, Patrick, Gabriella, Logan, Ryan, and great grandchildren Sofia and Jack.

He enjoyed his time in Saint-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson with his parents, his brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and extended family. His life was enriched by a healthy and active lifestyle, wonderful lifelong friends, and his amazing tennis, golf and sailing buddies. A man of great integrity and gentleness, he served his church and his community with dedication.

Visitation: Saint George Orthodox Church, 555 Jean Talon Street East, Tuesday, February 12, 4-8 PM and Wednesday February 13, 10-11am. Funeral service will be held at Saint George Orthodox Church, February 13, at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint George Orthodox Church (www.saintgeorgemontreal.org) or Cedars Cancer Foundation (www.cedars.ca).

None of you probably realize the happy times your Dad and your whole family gave me. Each of you touched me in a profound and positive way.

I have some nice memories of your dad in the 90's when I spent a few years during the summer up in Esterel at the family compound! Your dad was always very kind and always a Gentleman!
