In Celebration of

Charles "Chuck Dean" Childers

January 23, 1939 -  August 24, 2017

Charles “Chuck Dean” Childers died at peace in hospital with music, friends and family on August 24 at 6:30 p.m. He struggled with Parkinsons for a long while. He leaves his wife Elizabeth Morgan and their son James Morgan : Suzanne and Chris Armstrong, Michele and Olga Burman, Peter and James-Ian Morgan. Brothers and sisters: Clyde, Charlene, Cathy, Chris, Cevin and Cinda (predeceased by Connie and Caroline). He will be sorely missed. Chuck, as he was called by his friends with his radiant smile and mischief sense of humour were a welcome addition to any gathering of which there were many. He was born in Utica, Nebraska in 1939 to a farming family of 9 children. He succeeded brilliantly in school and was at Omaha University med school for 5 years. The Bright Lights, Big City drew him to Haight Ashbury, San Fran and New York where he pursued acting and worked at The Village Vanguard following a love of Jazz and music. He moved to Montreal in 1971 and worked at the Sir Winston Churchill Pub/Boileroom and was Johnny Vagos right hand man. He was a “Barmans Bartender” and was described as the best in Montreal in those days as described by Jack Todd in an article in the Gazette. http://coolopolis.blogspot.ca/2016/06/un-jour-on-crescent-street-40-photos-of.html?m=1
