Celine Polak (née Spier)

Born May 24, 1929 in Amsterdam; died peacefully on January 8, 2017. Beloved wife, soulmate and best friend of Maximilien Polak for 62 years; devoted and fiercely protective mother of Michael (Penelope), Monique, and Carolyn (Harold); most fun Oma to Alicia, Erica, Julia, Nicholas, Stephen, Claudia, and Lolo; step-grandmother of Jennifer, Jason, Ryan (Melissa) and Dana; loving sister of Peter (Kay) and Tom (Ria). Predeceased by her parents Jo and Tieneke Spier and her grandson Andrew. A Holocaust survivor, Celine inspired everyone she met with her joie-de-vivre and courage. Special thanks to the caring staff on 6D at the Jewish General Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 10:30 am, followed by a reception at the

Elle était la mère dévouée de Michael (Penelope), Monique et Carolyn (Harold), la grand-mère ‘fun’ d’Alicia, Erica, Julia, Nicholas, Stephen, Claudia et Lolo ainsi que la belle-grand-mère de Jennifer, Jason, Ryan (Melissa) et Dana. Soeur de Peter (Kay) et Tom (Ria). L’ont précédés ses parents Jo et Tieneke Spier, ainsi que son petit-fils Andrew. Survivante de l’Holocauste, Celine inspirait tous par sa joie de vivre et son courage. La famille tient à remercier le personnel de l’Hôpital Général Juif pour leurs bons soins.
