It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverley Ann Stevens, aged 58 years, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Predeceased by her mother Ruth (Corbett), survived by her father Gerald, her brother Jamie (Cheryl Roscoe), and her sister Sandra (Paul Reiner), as well as her niece Gemma Stevens and her nephew Dexter Stevens. She will also be greatly missed by her Ontario cousins, and many close friends.
Beverley was born and raised in Lachine. Valedictorian at Lachine High School, top student at Marianopolis College, she studied for a year at Guelph University before completing her B.Sc. in Biology at Concordia University. She later returned to Concordia to earn a post-graduate certificate in Computer Science.
Beverley held senior positions at software firm Discreet Logic/Autodesk, before eventually fully embracing her love of animals and becoming a veterinary aide-tech.
Beverley loved hiking in the Adirondacks with the Rover gang in her late teens and twenties. She was also a Cub Scout leader (Blue Smoke). She traveled to Europe several times, exploring city and countryside in her hiking boots. In more recent years she discovered the Stratford Festival in Ontario, and her walls are lined with books on every subject.
Beverley adopted many pets over the years, finally having to buy a farm in St Lazare to hold all the dogs, cats, and horses. She was a passionate member of the Agility Association of Canada, travelling across Canada with a car full of dogs for the annual National Championships. Her beloved Keta and Maggie won dozens of ribbons, as well as lifetime achievement awards, making their momma proud. Thanks to Beverley’s close friends, all her “children” were placed in loving new homes in the final weeks, which was of immeasurable comfort to her.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff in the D10 Oncology and D9 Palliative Care units at the MUHC, who nursed Beverley through her final days.
The family will receive condolences Oct 23 12:30 - 2:30 pm at the Belvedere Cemetery and Funeral Complex, 22025 Transcanada Hwy, Senneville. A private family service will follow.

We will hold a celebration of life in Spring 2021, when all of Beverley's wonderful friends will be able to properly pay tribute to this extraordinary woman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Beverley to the Canadian Cancer Society, to the MUHC Foundation for Breast Cancer Treatment, or to your favourite charity in support of animal welfare.
