Beatrice Joan Bird (O'Quinn)

February 22, 1930 - May 19, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrice Joan Bird (nee O’Quinn) at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband Reginald Bird, as well as her dearest sisters Leila and Pearl, brother-in-law Ted and brother Wallace. She is survived by her sister-in-law Claire. Cherished mother of Allen, Joanne (Tony) and Donna (Frank). Loving Nanny of Ashley, Christopher, Corey and Chelsey. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family. Joan was a long standing member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus and loved to sing. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Mary’s hospital for their good care and support.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at

Jo and family;
Time will not, nor should it, completely close the hole in your heart. But, each passing day will soften the pain that void brings. Take comfort in knowing your Mums' legacy lives on and will continue to do so. My sincere condolences Jo, you are not alone in your sorrow.

As time goes by your memories of your Mum and all the happy times you shared will replace those memories of the frail old lady, lying in a bed, that you went to see every day..
