Montreal and Canada has lost a longstanding foundation of its bagpiping community. Always proud of his special role as a composer of pipe tunes and a truly knowledgeable friend of all pipers, Angus joined the 78th Fraser Highlanders, in part, to encourage the continuing presence of young pipers and drummers performing in Montreal. during the summer months. In this small aspect of his full portfolio of life achievements, he will be sincerely remembered.

Dear members of the MacDowell Family,

I was deeply saddened to learn this morning of Angus' passing on Friday. On behalf of Lower Canada College and the Alumni Association, please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. Angus was a regular at our alumni dinners and always stayed connected to the school. I enjoyed our many conversations and lunches over the years, especially our talks about bagpipes! Angus was a proud Old Boy; I know that I speak for the entire LCC family when I say that we are thinking of you and yours at this most difficult time.

Non Nobis Solum,

Kirk LLano
LCC Alumni Ambassador
